Corrales Bosque Preserve Access Point

This is more than learning to fly fish. It’s about slowing down, listening to the water, and giving grief the space it deserves—held by nature and community. Limited spots. Beginner-friendly. One unforgettable day on the river.

About the event

This outdoor mini-retreat is an invitation to reconnect with Mother Nature, the river, and yourself. Set along one of New Mexico’s life-giving waterways, we’ll explore the quiet, meditative movements that fly fishing naturally embodies—rhythm, presence, patience, and release.

Designed especially for beginners, your introductory fly-fishing experience is paired with guided reflection and gentle grief-informed coaching. As we learn to cast, read the water, and move with the current, we’ll also turn inward—creating space to acknowledge losses, unfinished grief, and life transitions that are asking for attention. The river becomes both teacher and companion as we practice noticing what we’re ready to hold, and what we may be ready to let go.

This is a small-group experience (limited to just a few women) to ensure safety, individualized instruction, and a supportive, intimate container. Expect a blend of practical fly-fishing instruction, intentional pauses, river-side conversations, and quiet moments of personal reflection.
