Grief has a way of changing everything. It can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, uncertain about the future, and unsure of how to move forward. I know that feeling because I've experienced significant loss in my own life. Losing my father, brother, and mother, along with rebuilding after other unexpected changes, taught me that healing isn't something we simply wait for—it often begins when we're willing to slow down, acknowledge where we are, and accept support.
That's one of the reasons I offer wellness retreats. They provide an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life, reconnect with yourself, and spend time in a supportive community where healing can happen naturally.
Why Stepping Away Can Make a Difference
When we're grieving, it's easy to stay busy or fall into routines that leave little room to process what we're feeling. Daily responsibilities don't stop simply because we're hurting.
A retreat creates space to pause.
Away from everyday distractions, you have the opportunity to reflect, breathe, and begin working through your experiences without feeling rushed. Sometimes, changing your surroundings is enough to help you see your life from a different perspective.
Healing doesn't happen because you're in a beautiful place. It happens because you've given yourself permission to be present with your story.
What Makes My Retreats Different
Every retreat is built around connection—connection with yourself, with others, and with the natural world.
Rather than spending every hour in workshops, I believe healing also happens through movement, creativity, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences. Depending on the retreat, activities may include hiking, fly fishing, creative projects, cooking, food preservation, time in nature, or simply gathering around a conversation with others who understand what it means to rebuild after loss.
These experiences aren't about distraction. They're about rediscovering joy, purpose, and the parts of yourself that grief may have hidden for a while.
What You Can Expect
No two retreats are exactly alike, but every experience is designed to create a welcoming and supportive environment where you can participate in a way that feels comfortable.
During a retreat, you can expect:
- Guided coaching and meaningful group conversations.
- Time for quiet reflection and personal growth.
- Nature-based experiences that encourage renewal.
- Creative activities that support healing and self-expression.
- A welcoming community where everyone is treated with respect.
You never have to share more than you're comfortable sharing. Some people find healing through conversation, while others benefit simply from listening and being present.
Healing Doesn't End When the Retreat Does
One of my goals is to help you carry what you've learned back into everyday life.
Whether it's a new way of approaching grief, a simple daily practice, or the friendships you've built during the retreat, the hope is that you leave feeling more connected to yourself than when you arrived.
Many people discover that healing isn't about leaving their grief behind. It's about learning to carry it differently while making room for hope, purpose, and new beginnings.
Is a Wellness Retreat Right for You?
A retreat may be helpful if you're:
- Looking for space away from everyday responsibilities.
- Working through grief or another significant loss.
- Feeling stuck or uncertain about what's next.
- Longing for meaningful connection with others.
- Ready to reconnect with yourself through nature, creativity, and reflection.
You don't need to have everything figured out before attending. You only need to be open to the possibility that healing can begin with one small step.
Let's Start with a Conversation
If you've been wondering whether a wellness retreat might be right for you, I'd be happy to have a conversation. Together, we can talk about where you are, what you're looking for, and whether one of my retreats feels like a good fit.
Healing isn't a journey you have to walk alone. Sometimes, taking a step away from everyday life is exactly what allows you to take a step toward yourself.
